Workplace Needs Assessments

A workplace needs assessment is a process where I, as a specialist assessor, observe an employee's role and environment to identify barriers they may face due to neurodiversity or a disability. I then provide a report with recommendations for reasonable adjustments, such as assistive technology, workspace modifications, or training, to improve productivity and well-being. This process is designed to create a more inclusive environment, support employees in performing their best work, and ensure legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010 are met.

It is -

  • Solutions focused - a practical process to find solutions for an individual's challenges at work, not a medical diagnosis.

  • Tailored to the individual: assessments are one-to-one and focused on the specific employee, their role, and their work environment.

  • Identifies barriers: the assessment identifies challenges arising from conditions like neurodiversity, or physical disabilities that hinder an employee's performance.

  • Provides Recommendations: the report outlines specific "reasonable adjustments" to remove these barriers.

Why it's beneficial

  • Supports employees to thrive by creating a more accessible and comfortable work environment.

  • Boosts productivity by enabling individuals to perform at their best, leveraging their unique skills and strengths.

  • Promotes inclusivity by fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.

  • Legal compliance by helping employers meet their legal duty to provide reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010.
